Oh heeeyyyyoooo! This space. We just cannot. Okay, sorry...it's just so cute.
(Puts on professional writing hat.)
There are so many benefits of siblings sharing rooms. For instance, they sleep better, it teaches them to be more sensitive and respect privacy, gives them problem-solving skills and the wonderful art of sharing and helping. And all the parents said AMEN!
That said, there is absolutely nothing we love more than a design challenge and clients that say yes to our first round of digital mock ups of the space!
For this edition of the project reveal, we want to share with you our behind-the-scenes creative process and how we accomplished this unique, fun, and energetic shared kid’s room.
Design challenge numero uno: Create a space for brother and sister that reflects their personalities, without using a theme or a pink and blue color story. Enter black and white as our neutral background. People don’t often see black as a neutral, but it is, and we love using it. The best part? The kids can spruce up their beds with accent pillows or their favorite stuffed animals to add pops of color.

Design challenge numero dos: Design this shared bedroom in a 10 x 10’ traditional ranch 1950 style home. Say hello to bunk beds! If you're like us, bunk beds immediately translate to fun childhood memories which is something we are intentional about when designing spaces. It’s not just good aesthetics, it’s home- celebrating, mood-uplifting, sensory-satisfying interior design that greatly impacts the lives and homes of real people.

Design challenge numero tres: Add a standout art story! To top it off, we added a fun gallery wall playing off both feminine and masculine elements and paired it with the cutest, most literal representation of this space, a “better together” neon sign! That’s it, friends, two is always better than one!
