Welcome to Part Two of our Essex House reveal—because one post simply wasn’t enough for this insanely amazing project. Now, we’re taking things upstairs, where the magic continues. The second level of this home is all about retreat and relaxation, with beautifully designed bedrooms, a spa-like primary suite, and thoughtful details that make everyday living feel effortlessly elevated. From cozy textures to statement lighting, every space is packed with personality while keeping that signature Studio 790 balance of warmth and sophistication. Let’s dive in!
At the top of the stairs, you’re welcomed into the loft—a cozy, lounge-worthy retreat designed for ultimate relaxation. Our client envisioned this space as a spot to cuddle up, unwind, and enjoy movie nights, so we made sure it delivered all the comfort and style. Enter the ever-popular Cloud Sofa from RH, the definition of sink-in-and-never-leave comfort. Keeping the palette neutral, we layered in soft textures and subtle tones to create a serene vibe.
To add a personal touch, we curated stunning landscape art of Italy—a destination close to our client’s heart—bringing a sense of nostalgia and sophistication to the space. And on the TV wall, we introduced an accent wallpaper moment with an abstract pattern. It’s neutral enough to blend seamlessly into the space but adds just the right amount of depth and visual interest. The result? A dreamy hideaway that’s equal parts stylish and snuggle-approved.

Moving on to the next bedroom and keeping in line with the Italy theme, this guest retreat is a total crowd-pleaser. Inspired by Il San Pietro in Positano—our client’s favorite Italian getaway—we designed a space that feels fun, playful, and vibrant but never overwhelming.
The teal-blue upholstered bed steals the show, setting the tone for a dreamy coastal palette. Pops of coral red come through in the scalloped-edge pillows, adding warmth and contrast. A textured wallpaper backdrop brings subtle depth, while the framed coastal art reinforces the Italian Riviera aesthetic. Layered rugs, a mix of materials, and brass accents pull it all together, creating a space that feels like an effortless, stylish escape.

Step into serene sophistication with this dreamy primary bedroom retreat. The space is anchored by elegant faux wooden ceiling beams that add warmth and architectural interest, drawing the eye upward and creating a cozy, yet airy ambiance. A soft, velvety area rug underfoot adds plush texture and sets the stage for the bed, which is layered in crisp white linens and calming neutral tones. To the side, a quaint reading nook features a cloud-like armchair—perfect for curling up with a book or easing into your morning coffee ritual. Subtle patterned wallpaper and natural wood accents throughout the room enhance the organic, spa-like feel, while floor-to-ceiling sheer curtains invite in a wash of natural light, gently framing the outdoor view. This space perfectly balances comfort and luxury, making it the ultimate personal sanctuary.

And finally, the bathrooms—proof that you don’t need a full gut renovation to make a big impact. These spaces strike that sweet spot between keeping what works and elevating where it counts. We kept several of the builder-grade elements in place, then layered in a few simple upgrades like fresh lighting, updated mirrors, and wallpaper in just the right spots. It’s all about the mix—high and low, clean and cozy—coming together to create something that feels intentional, elevated, and totally livable.
